Hey there,
You might notice our newsletter has a fresh new look and is localized in your language. If you would like to receive the English version, just click here. If you have feedback, click here to send me a message. Just one click is enough!
I want to share a bit more about myself with each newsletter. This month, I visited a beautiful spot at the “Main” river with my children. My older son was collecting shells, while the younger one was enjoying the water. I lazed on a nice tree enjoying the sun until we got caught in a summer storm, but it created great memories!
For privacy reasons, I only share photos of places and myself, not my family members.
But now, onto the newsletter and all the exciting updates I have to share!

Expanded Localization & Voice Overs
I’m excited to share that I’ve expanded language support in School of Magic! In addition to English and German, you can now play the game in Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. I’m currently working on adding voice overs for all these languages, so you’ll soon be able to experience the story and characters in your native tongue.
I’m also using the same localization workflow for this newsletter. If you notice anything odd or have suggestions about the translations—either in the game or in this email—please let me know! You can click here to send me feedback directly. Your input will help me make everything feel right in every language!
Black Beard: The Pirate World’s Fiercest Foe
I’m excited to introduce the notorious Black Beard, the most challenging enemy in the Pirate World! This formidable opponent brings a unique strategic challenge through his Healing Pirate Flag ability.
The flag creates a healing zone for all nearby enemies, and importantly, it cannot be attacked or destroyed. Your only option is to move out of its range, which forces you to constantly balance dealing damage and repositioning. This perfectly embodies the Pirate World’s focus on area-of-effect abilities that keep you constantly on the move.
Leveling System Updates
I want to make the mechanics in School of Magic clearer and more exciting for new players. That’s why I’ve added a new feature: the Lucky Draw. Now, when you draw a spell during a run, there’s a chance it will randomly gain between 1 and 3 extra levels! This adds a burst of excitement and unpredictability to every run.
If you get a Lucky Draw or pull a legendary card, you’ll see a short celebration in-game to mark the moment. And to make level-ups even more tense, I’ve added a new animation: when a card is about to be deleted, a cursor sweeps over your cards, threatening to delete them. This adds real tension to those moments when you’re hoping to keep your favorite card!
Upcoming Beta & Exciting Tools
I’m working hard to get the beta release finished! Right now, I’m wrapping up some essential tools—including the very newsletter creator I’m using to write this update. I’m also building new social media tools, like an app that automatically creates video clips and extracts screenshots, to help share the game’s progress with you more easily.
On the gameplay side, I’ve started work on the Necromancer ability, and I’m deep into balancing everything I’ve built so far. This part is really exciting for me, as it brings all the systems together and lets me see how the game is shaping up for the upcoming beta. Stay tuned—there’s a lot more to come!
Special Gift For You!
As a thank you for your support, I’m giving away 10 Steam keys with every newsletter! To make it fair, I divide all subscribers into 10 equal groups, and each group receives a different key. For example, with 10,000 subscribers, each batch of 1,000 people would get the same key. Right now, there are about 20,000 subscribers, so each key is shared with roughly 2,000 people. First come, first served!
Note: To make it harder to scrape, the key below is in reverse order this time. Every newsletter will use a different protection method, so don’t even try to scrape it!
Simply reverse the key above before redeeming on Steam. Good luck!
Thank you for reading! If you’ve made it this far and haven’t yet wishlisted School of Magic on Steam, it would mean a lot to me if you did. I’m hopeful that I’ll have more exciting updates for you soon—especially as the beta gets closer. Stay tuned and take care!
